On this page you’ll find tons of useful resources to help you plan for your next trip, whether it’s a city break or a couple of weeks of cruising. Planning my journeys is one of my favourite parts of the travel experience and over the years I’ve figured out some top tips and tricks that I’m sharing with you, so that you can travel smarter, saving time and money.

My resources include a series of useful guides that you can download and print off or keep on your phone whilst you travel, as well as my top recommendations of where to find the best deals on flights, accommodation and more. I’ve also created some lists of my favourite travel gear and essentials, all tried and tested on the road by me!

I’ve collated my favourite websites, all tried and tested by me, for finding the best deals, services and experience in preparation for your next trip.

Flights

Skyscanner

I frequently use Skyscanner to find cheap flights for those last minute weekend getaways. You can search for specific routes or simply enter your departure airport and find the cheapest deals to just about anywhere!

Trip.com

Trip.com is another one stop shop for comparing prices on everything from flights to accommodation and experiences.

CheapOair

CheapOair is another great comparison site where you can search for cheap flights across the globe. As well as flights you can also search for car rentals, cruises and more, allowing you to find everything you need in one place.

Google Flights

Google Flights is a really useful tool, not only for finding flight deals, but also for tracking price changes through alerts, meaning that you can make a better judgement on the best time to book your flight.

Jack's Flight Club

Get cheap flight alerts straight to your inbox for FREE! Jack’s Flight Club scours the internet for the best flight prices and sends you email updates, meaning you never need to pay full fare again. They have a paid subscription that gives you first access to the best deals too, but the free tier is well worth signing up to.

Accommodation

Booking.com

I use Booking.com ALL. THE. TIME.
They have a huge selection of properties all over the globe to suit literally any need and budget. The filtering tool on the search is one of my favourites and the price displayed is for the entire stay instead of per night.

Hotels.com

Hotels.com is another great option for comparing prices and facilities for thousands of properties all over the world. If you are a frequent traveler you can take advantage of their rewards scheme to earn 

Transport

Interrail/Eurail

If you’re planning a trip around Europe, rail is hands down the best way to do it! If you’re considering a trip across several European countries an Interrail pass gives you value and flexibility and opens up possibilities for wonderful adventures!

Flixbus

Flixbus operate buses and coaches across Europe, with loads of domestic and international routes to choose from.The prices are great for travellers on a budget and all of the buses I’ve used have been clean and comfortable.

Trainline

The Trainline app is well worth downloading to find and compare train tickets for the UK and Europe, and also to get updates on your journey including and disruptions or platform changes.

Rome2Rio

Need to know how to get from A to B? Or not sure what’s the fastest route or transport method? Rome2Rio is the tool for you. Search any two start and end points and Rome2Rio will give you the route options to compare, giving estimated journey times and prices too.

Rentalcars.com

Planning a road trip? Use Rentalcars.com to find and compare the best rental vehicle to suit your needs and save money!

Holiday Taxis

If you’re like me and you frequently book your flights and hotels separately when you travel, you’ll likely need to figure out airport transfers too. Holiday Taxis is a great way to search for transfers and save up to 70% on taxi prices at the airport.

Expedia is one of the worlds biggest travel booking platforms. Whether you’re looking for a staycation or the trip of a lifetime, you’ll be able to find it here and compare prices to get the best deal.

Intrepid Travel

Secret Escapes

Secret Escapes is free to sign up to and gives you access to loads of time sensitive deals on luxury escapes, from UK staycations in spa hotels to all inclusive getaways abroad.

Voyage Privé

If you’re on the lookout for a short break with a bit of luxury thrown in, Voyage Privé has plenty of ‘Flash Deals’ to search through that usually include heavily discounted or upgraded hotels for less.

Tours and excursions

Get Your Guide

Search for tours, excursions and attraction tickets for destinations all over the world with Get Your Guide. They have everything from skip-the-line museum tickets to luxury multi-day excursions.

Viator

Find and book tours, tickets and attractions for just about anything, anywhere with Viator. The website is easy to use making the search for your perfect destination activities a doddle.

Musement

A great option for the culture vultures, through Musement you can search and book tours, tickets and activities all over the world, including world-famous museums and historical sites.

Tripadvisor

As well as being the go to place for hotel and attraction reviews, you can also book rooms, tours, restaurant tables and more through Tripadvisor.

Guides and books

Lonely Planet

Not only do Lonely Planet publish comprehensive travel guides that you can take with you on your trip to any destination imaginable, their website is also a treasure trove of ideas and recommendations.

Rough Guides

Rough guides produce some great travel guides for destinations all over the world. Their guides are easy to follow and their ‘Rough Guide to Europe on a Budget’ gave me loads of inspiration for my Interrail trip.
